Empire Today - Cancelled contract - Resolved
On April 22, 2016, a representative from Empire came to my home to give an a free estimate on having flooring installed. The person brought samples, and persuaded me to enter into a financial contract with Empire.
I gave him $520 as a deposit, with the distinct understanding that if I changed my mind, I would get my money back. The next day, April 23, 2016, I called the representative to cancel. He informed me not to worry, he would handle my refund. I also filled out the cancellation contract, and mailed it the same day.
As an extra precaution, I called Empire to advise them of the forthcoming mailing. Now, May 20, 2016, and after several phone calls and broken promises, I have yet to receive my $520 deposit.
Reason of review: Problems with payment.
Monetary Loss: $520.
Preferred solution: Refund my money as promised and offer my original contract free as a gesture of good will due to your broken promises.
Empire Today Pros: Initial contact.
Empire Today Cons: No followup, Broken promise.
Location: Bartlett, Tennessee
